Terms of Service

1. The service
Gaps & Layers is an exam-preparation service for the CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701) certification exam. You get access to practice questions, performance-based labs, practice exams, and progress tracking. We continuously add and revise content; the exact set of questions and features may change over time.
2. Accounts
You need an account to use the service. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. You must provide a valid email address. One account is for one person — sharing accounts is not permitted.
3. Subscription and billing
Access requires a paid subscription, billed monthly through our payment provider (Polar), who acts as merchant of record. Your subscription renews automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time from the customer portal; access continues until the end of the paid period.
4. Refunds
If the service isn't for you, email us within 7 days of your first payment and we'll refund it in full — no questions asked. Renewal payments are refundable at our discretion.
5. Acceptable use
Don't scrape, redistribute, or resell the content; don't attempt to extract answer data outside the intended flow. We apply fair-use rate limits and may suspend accounts that circumvent them.
6. Content and no-guarantee
Our questions and labs are original works inspired by published exam objectives. They are not actual exam questions. We make no guarantee that you will pass any exam. The service is study material, not certification.
7. Trademarks
CompTIA® and Security+® are registered trademarks of CompTIA, Inc. Gaps & Layers is an independent study resource and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by CompTIA.
8. Liability
The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
9. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
